About me
Who am I?
I’ve always believed that a great performance is only half the battle. The rest is about connection and integrity. Before I moved into the booth full-time, I spent eight years as a teacher. That decade of work taught me how to hold an audience's attention and how to communicate complex ideas with real intent. With the addition to being able to speak multiple languages and living in an international commnuity, I have developed my own unique approach to communication over the years I live a plant-based life and spend much of my time volunteering with dog rescues and families in need. I bring that same sense of responsibility to my professional work. When I’m not narrating, I’m usually in an improv circle honing the spontaneity that keeps my reads fresh, or at my workbench wood-carving.
The Craft
I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to sound. I spent many years as a music producer, so I’m obsessive about audio fidelity. I actually built my recording booth by hand to get the acoustics exactly where I wanted them. I record through a DPA 2017 and an RME Babyface Pro FS, so the files I deliver are clean and broadcast-ready from the start.
Language and Versatility
I am fully bilingual and work daily in both English and French. My range covers a variety of North American and European accents. Whether I'm working on a long-form narration project or a quick commercial spot, I bring the stamina of a seasoned pro and the creative energy of an improv actor to every session. www.mattonsa.com
